For this time critical project Rolf Riedl GmbH, an international freight forwarder, mobilised within four hours to support our client and meet their project timelines. The team prepared the transport for the pre-carriage, completed the airport handling in Turkey and Germany, as well as providing on-carriage services.
Rolf Riedl GmbH, in cooperation with ANTONOV Airlines and KITA Logistics, successfully performed the challenging transportation of a Power Supply Skid from its factory premises in Turkey to Tekirdag Airport in Turkey, followed by air transportation to Hamburg Airport and finally to site in Brunsbüttel, Germany. The flight was excellently performed on board of the AN-124-100-150 aircraft.
The oversized container measuring 19.00m in length, 4.24m in width, and 4.01m in height, was designed specifically by Siemens ENERGY to transport the E-house. The E-House is a prefabricated substation which is used as a power distribution centre and is important for Germany’s LNG terminal to achieve an independent and low-emission energy supply system.

“A floating LNG terminal is scheduled to go into operation in the Elbe port at the beginning of 2023 and will quickly make a contribution to the gas supply of northern Germany, so it was very urgent to have the gas in Germany and to start generation,” said Volodymyr Goncharov, Commercial Executive, Antonov Airlines.
The biggest challenge was the precise installation of low-profiled ramp equipment accepted especially for this mission.
